[ because why not make it about jax rather than concern about carl? it's a little thing, but jax suspects carl's pride won't allow for the idea of asking for help. ]

Yeah... [don't think for a second he doesn't see a little of the reverse psychology there, but he does agree that nothing else seems to help and his word is his word, so.]

[ jax is kicked back in one of the seats, head tipped back like that can prevent the nosebleed from getting worse. he has the monitor lit up in front of him, keeping an eye on it out of his peripheral vision, but he sits up straight when carl comes in. ]

[ who looks alright, and jax nods to himself to see it. ]

[when carl comes in, it's worth noting it's without his hat because the weight of it hurts his head even more. still, he never goes anywhere without it, so this would be the first time for that. and he's not without very important supplies in hand! that is to say...]

Hey, I brought clean kitchen rags to keep you from bleeding on your clean shirts.

[there's a tad bit of amusement in his tone when he says that. and before he listens in pulling up a chair, he returns jax's greeting by nodding without thinking. owww.]

[ it's a nice gesture. jax grins, takes the rags with one hand while snagging carl's with the other. ]

I'm gonna appreciate that when it's laundry time.

[ casual, because it's probably for the best that he doesn't make too much of this. they're holding hands, it has the potential to be awkward, but jax doesn't want it to be. ]

[even with the joking tone, he takes some pride in it as it was his bright idea. and with the rags passed along, he finally takes a seat. sure the hand grab surprises him for a second and is very awkward, but he doesn't want it to be weird either so he falls silent after.

the plus side is that the handholding seems to be helping already.]
